Re your Kathy Jones-Garmil's request for occult and the like museums... There is a wax museum on Cannery Row in Monterey which provides an historical background of Steinbeck's favorite little town, although I wouldn't say it's ghoulish. I would, however, recommend the Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum of wax figures and other bizarre attractions in the Niagara Falls area (Canada side). I'd also agree with Alan Kabat's reference to the (many) witchcraft museums and other historical sites in Salem, MA. They always give me the heebie-jeebies, primarily because those horrors actually occurred! Karen J. Kroslowitz phone: 808-848-4118 Natural Sciences, Malacology fax: 808-841-8968 Bernice P.
