CITY EDITION: ARTICLES MAY NOT APPEAR ON THE SAME DAY IN THE NATIONAL
HISTORICAL SOCIETY MAY PUT HOLDINGS IN N.Y.U.'S CONTROL
by Paul Goldberger (The Arts C17)
The New-York Historical Society board is to vote this morning to
hand over effective control of nearly all of their holdings (except
for the art collection) to New York University. The collections would
remain in the Central Park West building, authority over them
would revert to the dean of the NYU Libraries, Carlton C. Rochell.
NY political leaders reacted angrily, saying they had not been
informed of the proposal.
(Beware, NYU will want YOUR collection next. RNM :-} )
That's it.
