INTRODUCTION: The Maryland Historical Trust (MHT), an agency of the Maryland Department of Planning, is seeking to hire a full time Marketing and Events Manager for Jefferson Patterson and Museum (JPPM). Located on 560 scenic acres along the Patuxent River in Calvert County, Maryland, JPPM is home to over 65 archaeological sites, more than 30 historic buildings and structures, and the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory. JPPM supports the preservation of Maryland's cultural resources and connects people to the past through the preservation and interpretation of our onsite historical and archaeological resources.  

This position is responsible for JPPM’s marketing, advertising, social media, and outreach strategies and coordinates JPPM-organized special events. This includes marketing and promoting all JPPM-organized activities; developing JPPM-wide and programmatic advertising; planning, coordinating, implementing, and scheduling events; managing JPPM’s website; overseeing the management of social media pages; developing and maintaining community relationships and partnerships; and interacting with the public to promote JPPM. The Marketing and Events Manager works to raise awareness of Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum in the region and to support and promote JPPM’s mission and programming.
