Freezing does require wrapping the objects in archival tissue then sealing (double-sealing) in plastic. The main issue is this collection has a mixture of materials other than cloth that technically should not be frozen, things like plastic sequins, glass beads, etc. The other caveat to our issue with freezing is that this collection consists of several hundred objects. The time it would take to wrap the objects would be labor-intensive and time consuming, as well as the length of time the objects should sit in sub zero temps is quite long. It appears that our best, safest method is fumigation. We just want to make sure we call the right professionals to help us accomplish this. All help to point us in the right direction is appreciated!
