Hi Robin
In your post to Sylvia Bruner you refer to the "UNESCO Code of Ethics for
Museums". You must mean the ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums; you can view
the text at http://icom.museum/professional-standards/code-of-ethics/ . The
International Council of Museums will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of
founding this year with the publication of a book on Museums, Ethics and
Cultural Heritage.

Hi Sylvia,
You may have already thought of this, but have you considered the Code of
Ethics as published by the Museum's Association in the UK? Generally this is
the policy that all museums in the UK should adhere to, whether accredited
or not. I would be interested to learn about the requirements for the Code
of Ethics for accredited museums in the US and who stipulates these
requirements. For example, is it required that a proposed Code of Ethics is
assessed against an existing framework or guided by broader codes such as
the UNESCO Code of Ethics for Museums?
Regards
Robin

Greetings!
My museum is undergoing re-accreditation and we need to improve our Code of
Ethics. Our committee would appreciate any examples of other's documents
that we could review. If you would like to reply off-line, my email is:
