*The Committee for Conservation of the International Council of Museums
(ICOM-CC) announces the Call for Host of the 18th Triennial Conference.*
The Triennial Conference is the culmination of ICOM-CC’s three-year cycle
of activities, providing a venue for conservators, scientists, historians
and art historians, curators, librarians, archivists, students, collection
managers and directors from the world’s leading cultural institutions and
the private sector to meet and exchange information on the latest research
and practice in the field of conservation. Depending on its location, the
conference may attract up to 1000 delegates who participate in plenary
sessions, general assemblies, and specialised Working Group sessions;
technical visits and excursions; and social events. In addition, delegates
expect to take advantage of the conference to visit local museums and sites
of interest in and around the host city.
In 2017 ICOM-CC will mark its 50th anniversary and the 18th Triennial
Conference will be a major platform for celebrations of this milestone. As
such, ICOM-CC seeks a partner with whom to plan for an appropriate
recognition of this important event in its history.
For information and guidelines the Call for Host document can be downloaded
on the ICOM-CC website: www.icom-cc.org
Deadline for receipt of the proposal is: 14 March 2014.
