Dear friends,
this reason hits the point. All ICOM meetings afford higher travelling costs and the chance to apply for only a few travelling grants is either unknown or not really stimulating. The "younger" potential ICOM members earn not that much money to pay these travelling costs by themselves.
In the past, I realized some ICOM meetings at places quite distant from the main center of activities. I accept that this aspect allows nice travelling impressions from all over the world. But in order to receive more participants, the fact of member or newcomers being not so well established might be kept in mind.
