The Staten Island Institute of Arts and Sciences (SIIAS) seeks an innovative professional to implement all fund-raising and marketing efforts including annual and capital campaigns; corporate, foundation and government grants; marketing, membership and special events. The VP, Development will work closely with the President and Board to oversee activities to support substantial institutional growth over the next few years. An approved plan includes the construction of a new waterfront facility designed by architect Peter Eisenman, with projected increased attendance, staffing, programming and community services to New York residents and tourists.

SIIAS holdings include works of art, specimens, and documents related to art, cultural history, and natural science. Exhibitions explore the region’s heritage and bring to life a wide variety of topics in the humanities. More than 50,000 school children from the New York City region annually attend the Institute’s curriculum-based programs.

The ideal candidate will have three to five years fund-raising experience and demonstrated prospect research, cultivation and solicitation skills. An understanding of Board, staff and volunteer participation in development activities is required along with strong interpersonal, writing and communication skills. Financial management, staff management and knowledge of marketing techniques in a nonprofit setting are essential. Salary to $55,000 and excellent benefits.
