INTERNSHIP IN MUSEUM EDUCATION

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is offering a graduate or post
graduate
level internship in museum education.   The intern will develop and
implement a new collaborative program with local high school students
who
will research and develop a walking tour of the town of St. Michaels,
Maryland highlighting the role of African-Americans in the town’s
seafood,
boatbuilding and related maritime industries. The project will involve
directing students with primary source research and oral history
interviews
with local residents.  Applicants must have a background in museum
education, teaching, folklore, or public history.  Excellent
communication
skills required.  Minority candidates encouraged to apply.  The six
month
internship begins mid- January and has a weekly stipend of $125 plus
