M.A. Fellowship in Public History

The University of Louisiana, Lafayette is offering an M.A. Fellowship in Public History.  The fellowship is to begin in January, June, or August 2000.  It carries a $12,000/per year stipend for 2 years, plus remission of tuition and most fees.

Review of applications will begin December 6, 1999 and March 1, 2000. Opportunities for specialization are open and include museums and archival management, historic preservation, community and local history, oral history, historical editing, and heritage tourism.  A Fellow must be a U.S. citizen or
resident alien with a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.5 and 1250 GRE (Verbal plus Analytical).  Deadline for applications: December 6, 1999 (for January start date) or March 1, 2000 (for June or August start date).
