We get the following holidays: Christmas Day The day after Christmas New Years' Day July 4 Labor Day Thanksgiving Day The day after Thanksgiving One floating holiday of the employee's choice--may be used to cover any religious or civic holiday not included above If any of the above holidays occurs on a weekend, we get to choose on an individual basis whether to take the previous Friday or the following Monday off. The Art Center itself is closed on the holiday, but open on the Friday and Monday. Enough people have to remain to keep operations going on those days. Full-time employees get 10 days paid leave after 1 full year of work, which goes to 15 days after 5 years, 20 days after 10 years, and 25 days after 15 years. I assume it continues to 30 days after 20 years and 35 days after 25 years, but nobody's been here that long... We get sick leave in the amount of 1 day per month worked (actually it is 1/2 day per pay period, but works out to be 1 day per month), with a maximum carry-over of 5 days per fiscal year. We also get 3 "personal" days per year, to use for family or personal business (such as funerals, or having to wait all day at the license branch because you let your license expire...). We think this system is fair, but of course hardly anybody takes all the vacation days to which they are entitled (too much to do!). We also have a great health plan that pays for preventive visits, so hardly anybody gets sick unless it is an emergency thing.
