We are currently in the process of researching and designing a clothing exhibit detailing clothing fashions in Pittsburgh from 1790 through the present. Our designer and preparator found it particularly helpful to visit commercial hat and clothing stores for ideas on how to go about displaying hats. Of course, the styrofoam busts or heads that many hat stores utilize are out of the question -- chemically as well as aesthetically. However, a few stores that we visited used a simple wall mount construction that we were easily able to replicate. Best, Nicholas P.
