I think the key idea in this thread is that "Please hire me" messages are, perhaps, the world's most ineffectual means of getting a job. Given that, they end up as extra junk and clutter in the mailboxes of nearly 2,000 list subscribers. Not to mention the inevitable resume attachments and unnecessary v-cards that hide on hard drives of hundreds of office computers, making IT managers all over the world wonder why disk space is so difficult to come by. I also think a more effective strategy is to scan the dozens of web-based job lists and the (naturally) archives of Musuem-L.
