The Cushing House Museum in Newburyport, Massachusetts may have some items related to William Cushing.  He lived in this house briefly, though for a longer period of time he lived just across the street.

Subject: Object Search re: early Justices of the Supreme Court
Date: Fri, Jun 11, 1999, 2:15 PM

Hello MUSEUM-Lers,

We are in the early stages of working on an exhibition about the John Marshall era at the Supreme Court.  We are attempting to locate objects relating to the Supreme Court and its Justices from the period 1800 to 1835.  We are aware of a few major collections (such as the John Marshall House in Richmond) and where the papers of many of these Justices are located, but are hoping to locate objects that relate to some of the less well known Justices to use in the exhibition.  If you are aware of any collections that relate to this topic or the list of Justices that follows (with state they were appointed from and years of Court service), we would appreciate it if you would contact us "off list".  If not too much trouble, please forward to anyone not on MUSEUM-L who might be able to help.

Chief Justice
John Marshall (Virginia, 1801-1835)
Associate Justices
William Cushing (Massachusetts, 1790-1810)

Thanks in advance to those who can help.
