There will be most of the information you need in the UCL library (there is a Museum Studies MA there). They certainly take Museums Journal, which is where vacancies are advertised,. It the MTI's booklet on careers in Museums, Heritage and Conservation isn't there, call them direct (number is in the Museums Yearbook, under their new name Cultural Heritage National Training Organisation). You could also ask one of your tutors for an introduction to the course leader (may be Nick Merriman still - I'm a little out of touch). Internships (i.e. paid work for people with little or no experience) are virtually non-existent in the UK. There are, however, lots of opportunities to volunteer.
