As a curator, with six years experience and looking to
relocate, I have seen salaries ranging from $15,000 to
$42,000--most with benifits. There are many different
factors that can determine salary and location is one.
It's cheaper to live in some areas than in others.
I use a salary calculator to see if a museum is offering
a living wage. Look at the web sites of moving companies
to find one or e-mail me and I'll send you the address for
the one I use.

Now, having said that, I must admit that if a job feeds
my mind and my soul, my body can make do with a little
less.

The museum field offers terrific opportunities and, for
the most part, you will never be bored in a museum position.
It's possible to make a comfortable living, but you will
never get rich.
