=B7 The Tate Gallery in London has employed Wolff Olins, design consultants,
to devise a new "brand" for the 100-year-old institution. The Tate is
following a trend, set by the Geological Museum, that saw
its attendance increase by 19% after it was rebuilt and renamed the Earth
Gallery, as well as regional museums (a toy museum in the Midlands was
renamed a fun centre). The Victoria & Albert Museum is offering a bottle of
champagne to anyone who comes up with a "snappy" new title for the museum in
South Kensington. (The Daily Telegraph. 13 Sept.1998)
