Who knows, maybe Vince would have found Barbie to be the perfect mate! She'd be a great studio model - easy to pose and stays put. I find it fascinating that people take such offense at this kind of thing. Does high art really deserve the sanctity we insist on for it? Sure Van Gogh's paintings are great, but does that mean it has to end there? Maybe some six year old girl (or boy) will get turned on to Van Gogh from grooving on the sunflower skirt? Is that so bad? ************************************************************************** Mark Nielsen Exhibit Designer/Preparator University of Michigan Museum of Art [log in to unmask] 313/647-2068 On Tue, 3 Nov 1998, Julie Collins wrote: > At 06:37 PM 11/3/1998 +0000, Ruth Marler wrote: > >OK everyone - I'm in the UK & I don't know what you're talking about. > >Just what have Mattel done with Barbie re VAn Gogh ??? > > > > > >-- > >Ruth Marler in Hampton, Middlesex, UK > >[log in to unmask] > > > Mattel/Barbie has create a doll that is wearing a long skirt with the > Sunflowers image as the pattern.
