Be sure to include with the letter, a self mailing envelope with a large flap, upon which you print name, address, telephone, and three or four amount options for them to check (also an "other" option so they can give more than the suggested amount). They should be able to drop their checks in the envolope, fill out the inside flap information, seal it and drop it in the mail. Oh, also: give them the option of donating by MasterCard or Visa if you have that service. ------ Robert Handy Brazoria County Historical Museum 100 East Cedar Angleton, Texas 77515 (409) 864-1208 museum_bob [log in to unmask] http://www.bchm.org ---------- From: Promotional Advantage[SMTP:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Thursday, October 22, 1998 8:42 AM To: [log in to unmask] I am working on an annual giving campaign. When I say this I am speaking of a once a year letter that would go out to past supporters of the museum, that is a requst for donations. This is going to be my first attempt and I think the first time it has ever been done at the museum. Does anyone have any suggestions or samples of letters that they might be willing to share? Also, have you found a particular time of year that works best? Any suggestion or ideas will be appreciated. It is always uplifting to hear about all of your successes.
