More museum studies grad school stuff!
I am at Brown in the Anthro department getting an MA in Museum
Anthropology. The museum here (Haffenreffer M of Anthro) is undergoing a
big move to downtown Providence, and the move is offering us grad students
some great opportunities to get involved in planning, etc. The program is
part of the Anthropology department... the MA on the way to a plain Anthro
PhD. Although the Haffenreffer has traditionally been a Native
American-focused museum, that is changing and the new museum will include
in one of its main galleries an exhibit on Petra, the site of a large scale
Brown excavation. This is in conjuction with the Old World Art and
Archaeology department.
