In defense Mr. Boylan's comments, I can verify that North Americans are in
short supply in Leicestershire.  Being a native North American myself
(Canadian) and having spent 4 months in Leicester doing an internship with
the Museum Service (excellent), not once did I happen upon another Canadian
or American, not even a tourist!  I was quite the novelty, actually.

This perhaps would explain why Thanksgiving (either Canadian or American)
is not celebrated in Leicester either!!

You can't please all of the people all of the time...
