EXHIBIT RESEARCHER. The Missouri Historical Society is hiring a staff member to assist in organization of a major, nationally traveling exhibit on the Lewis and Clark expedition to open in 2003. The researcher will work with institutions and advisors across the country. Duties include historical and curatorial research; writing of research reports, grant proposals, planning documents, newsletters, catalog entries, and exhibit labels; maintenance of a research database and files; and interviews with Native American experts. Required: MA or equivalent in anthropology or history, specializing in Native Americans or American frontier; two years of museum experience; experience communicating with Native American groups; knowledge of 18th-century material culture; computer skills. Must be willing to travel. This is a full-time grant-funded position starting Fall of1998, and scheduled to last to 2003, assuming receipt of anticipated funds.
