Other AFA updates are: 1. The AFA board wants to reiterate that first extensions on project grants will be dealt with by Clive Padfield, Executive Director; if a second extension is required it will go directly to the AFA board. Extensions are not encouraged. 2. Regarding changing of venues when applying for such things as study grants, approval will only be granted if the new venue is of equivalent status. For example, if a grant is approved to study at an international, well-established institution but for some reason the venue is changed, only another institution of equal stature will be accepted. 3. No late or incomplete applications (unless it is a first time applicant) for grants will be accepted. 4. A Bulletin will be out in June. 5. The AFA is developing a mailbox on its website. This is a pilot project until December; response to this option on the site will be monitored as to its effectiveness. This could provide another means of providing meaningful input into AFA programs. 6. At the next opening of the Legislature there will be another exhibition of works from the AFA collection. 7. The AFA met with Edmonton Professional Arts Council (EPAC) and the Alberta Arts Festivals Association (AAFA). Note that the AAFA has developed a postcard campaign regarding support of the Arts Festivals in Alberta.
