I am interested in developing an AAM session proposal tentatively titled
"Collaboration Within: planning grant requests and programs together." I
would like to bring together development and program staff to discuss ways
to collaboratively work together, in program planning and grant proposal
development.

Through informal discussions at past conferences, I have heard many
complaints:

1) from program staff -- about development getting grants for programs no
one intends to run, and

2) from development staff -- about not having enough information from
program staff so that funds can be secured before programs begin.

By working collaboratively, within the organization, staff can build
strong, fundable programs that serve the museum's mission.

Here at The Tech, we have developed many tools and ways of working
collaboratively. While some challenges persist, we would like to share our
success.

Is anyone else interested in this subject? Have you developed ways within
your institution to facilitate communication and planning? Would you be
willing to participate on a panel?
