Internship - Youth Volunteer Coordinator The Museum of Texas Tech University is seeking a Youth Volunteer Coordinator Intern to assist in the design and implementation of a new youth volunteer program. This is a full-time, 14 month, salaried internship with excellent employee benefits set to begin July 1998. The intern will work in a team-based collaborative environment, reporting to the Youth Volunteer Program Managers. Duties are project-oriented and include all aspects of the program: recruitment, program design and implementation, evaluation, communication with teachers and families, transportation services. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of curriculum development, training techniques and methodologies, learning theory, volunteer coordination, program development, and evaluation techniques. Excellent interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to deal effectively with people of varying experience and expertise. Excellent organizational skills, written and oral communication skills are required, as is a proficiency with computers and word processing. Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and have a valid drivers' license. The candidate should be able to work simultaneously on multiple, diverse tasks. Current enrollment in a graduate museum science or education program or related discipline or recent graduate is preferred, with an interest in museum education, volunteer development, or bilingual education.
