Education Internship at the Illinois State Museum
The Monticello College Foundation Internship in Museum Education
provides a unique opportunity to work closely with professional museum
educators.
The Monticello Intern is responsible for the day-to-day operations of
"A Place for Discovery," a hands-on children's gallery, including
coordination of the gallery's volunteers. The Monticello Intern also
assists with other museum education programs including classes,
workshops, and special events.
Requirements: a Bachelor's degree in education, anthropology, biology,
geology, environmental science, or art; a career interest in museum
education; experience in working with the public; ability to use
personal computers for word processing. Teaching experience highly
desirable. Flexibility and willingness to try new things are especially
important.
The internship runs September 1, 1998 through June 30, 1999, with some
flexibility in dates. Stipend plus excellent benefits package
including fully paid health and life insurance, holidays, vacation, and
sick time.
