The Museum of Questionable Medical Devices in Minneapolis, Minnesota had
just such a machine on display, as well a variety of other quackery.

Last spring in Atlanta I saw a travelling art show on Fakes and
Forgeries.  The name escapes me at the moment, but I know it's been
discussed in the professional literature ("Curator," "Museum News,"
etc.)

In January 1995 the Queensland art gallery had a wonderfully Jurassic
installation, consisting largely of found objects of pop culture,
interpreted ironically and presented in a serious museum setting.  Wish
I could remember the name of the artist...
