It might be of interest to some participants in this group that, starting to-morrow, January 28, 1998, at the Historical Museum of Berne, Switzerland a unique collection of 14th century tapestries will be treated against textile pests using a controlled atmosphere technology.
The exhibits will be placed in a custom-made laminate bubble, from which all oxygen is removed by flushing it with nitrogen. The aimed-for level of remaining residual oxygen is below 0.2% , which will be held for a minimum of three weeks.
