It might be of interest to some participants in this group
that, starting to-morrow, January 28, 1998, at the Historical Museum of
Berne, Switzerland a unique collection of 14th century tapestries will
be treated against textile pests using a controlled atmosphere
technology.
The exhibits will be placed in a custom-made laminate
bubble, from which all oxygen is removed by flushing it with nitrogen.
The aimed-for level of remaining residual oxygen is below 0.2% , which
will be held for a minimum of three weeks.
