Information and communication technologies are important tools for creating, sharing, and preserving cultural knowledge through the presentation and representation of museum objects. Today, this includes not just the atoms of real exhibitions, but the bits accessed by remote visitors from classrooms and living rooms all over the world. MCN '98 session topics may address infrastructure, software tools, hardware innovations, successful approaches to problems, or any of a variety of technical solutions to knowledge creation, sharing, and preservation issues. Proposals may address ideas and issues in any area of museum computing.
