David Baccadutre asked for museums using 'discovery drawers'. The Museum
of Sydney has made a feature of modernised 'cabinets of curiosities' which
are one of the practical implementation of curator Peter Emmett's theme of
a 'Pandora's box'. These stainless steel cabinets with shallow drawers,
each draw lit internally, contain a variety of objects with often
contradictory and challenging juxtapositions. The museum's exhibition
style have been the subject of discussion and I am sure other Australian
members will have some comment on this in general and the cabinets in
particular. For construction details I am sure someone from the Museum
will respond or be able to provide details.
