At this point, I feel safe in saying we all agree that we would all like to make more money no matter where we are! ---------- From: Robin Wagner[SMTP:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Thursday, July 17, 1997 5:53 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: POSTINGS in NYC Actually, it would take a car service from Queens to make a $50 ride out of Newark :-) As a recent refugee from NYC to Chicago, I'd say that the only real difference in living is the housing costs. These should not be underestimated, and a small number of "deals" in the east village aside, those of us who (gasp) try to raise a family and aspire for such outrageous luxuries as bedrooms for children wind up living in Brooklyn and Queens -- and even there a family-sized apartment on the edges of a nice community like Park Slope go for the better part of $2000 a month. I suspect New Yorkers can get grouchy just from spending half their monthly income or more on housing a month. Now can we move on to other topics?
