Dear Mr. Eichner, and Museum-L -- I don't understand. I have twice posted requests for simple information to this list. Twice, I have been, if not flamed, decidedly singed. This time, all I asked for were people's recommendations for good exhibits about dinosaurs. 1) I got dinged for not including a return email address in my post. I'm confused. The sig file that my email software automatically attaches is readily visible both in the Museum-L Digest I received and in the off-list replies I've gotten which include some or all of my original message. (This latter is good netiquette, Mr Eichner. Something you might consider in the future.) I'm sorry Mr. Eichner's email software seems to strip all identifying information from headers as well as automatically attached sig files. Perhaps another software suite would serve better? 2) I quote: <<This is begging for it...>> Begging for *what*, Mr. Eichner? I was and am looking for exhibits that exist in <real>, not <virtual>, space -- i.e. tangible stuff, objects, realia, exhibited in a well-conceived and attractively designed space with thoughtful and thought-provoking label copy; not pictures on the 'Net. I didn't think I was being obtuse - these seem to be relatively common and well-understood terms on the Internet. 3) Thanks, Mr. Eichner, for the Dinamation tip. It's a wonderful idea, and one which we happily did 3-4 years ago. It's just that we're looking for something a little different this time. Thank you to those of you who did not feel the need to jump down my throat and, indeed, to those who have already sent recommendations (I'll be thanking you individually in the very near future). Just in case someone else's email software strips automatic sig files, I will type it in manually this time (as well as letting my software do it for me): Gregg Jackson Librarian The Children's Museum of Indianapolis "Where children grow up ... and adults don't have to!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Email: [log in to unmask] TCM-I Web Site: http://www.childrensmuseum.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -- Gregg Jackson Librarian The Children's Museum of Indianapolis "Where children grow up ... adults don't have to!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Email: [log in to unmask] TCM-I Web Site: http://www.childrensmuseum.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
