This morning I received an email from Carol Scott at the Powerhouse in Sydney asking if I knew of anyone who has in place a framework for evaluating the performance of volunteers. We do - but only of volunteer guides in our education program. If you have such a framework, or know of anyone who does, would you kindly contact Carol at: [log in to unmask] and, if you would be kind enough to copy me on the message, I'd like to know, too! Thanks, Harry Needham Canadian War Museum - where, on Saturday 14 June, come and be entertained on the courtyard by the Central Band of the Canadian Forces or, on Sunday, 15 June, enjoy a Father's Day BBQ while being entertained by a swing band. But don't just stay on the courtyard - come on in and see our new exhibition "We'll Meet Again" - featuring the stories of 26 Canadians from 1914 to the present and how war changed their relationships with their loved ones. Some happy stories, some sad, but, always, the triumph of the human spirit. For more of the same, join us on the 14th and 15th in the neighbouring town of Perth, where the town, the Royal Canadian Legion and ourselves will celebrate a Dutch Canadian Friendship Weekend, highlighted by the story of a local man who saved the lives of a Dutch teenager and his family in a Netherlands where many faced starvation near the end of the Second World War. PS: If you live in the Netherlands, PLEASE do not spread this story around just yet, as it will be a complete surprise to that "teenager" when he and his wife arrive at the Museum on the 13th - and we want to keep it that way! A parade of WWII vehicles, street dances, a big BBQ by the river put on by the Legion, etc., etc.
