I have used both volunteers and staff.  I usually set up a log and a two
man saw with a staff person at one end and a visitor at the other,  also a
froe and maul to split logs.  for a demostration, sometimes with a bench
and drawknife to shape them, a wood  lath is neat but too dangerous for
visitors, unless it is a spring pole and no cutting tools.  Sometimes have
kids cut a dovetail or two or use a wood plane.  all of these tools are
available new or easily made so collection items are not harmed.  Hope
