When I was managing a museum's computer system I occasionally had to redirect mail messages which ended up in a dead letter box because the sender had mis-typed the name or address of the recipient. I normally just corrected these quietly and sent them on their way, but I had to look at the contents to do so. Some were very private, but my lips are sealed!
