A number of heritage institutions are required either by law or policy to provide equal services in more than one language. All Canadian national museums, for example, fall into this category, as Canada has two official languages, English and French. If you are in a similar position, you may wish to evaluate the provision of multilingual services to your visitors. If so, you may be interested in an evaluation recently completed in the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum on visitor services in both official languages. If interested, send me an email and I will send you a copy by the same means. Please DO NOT reply to me through MUSEUM-L as our email system cannot tell me your own email address and I will be unable to send you the file.
