AMERICAN NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO USA MUSEUM INTERNSHIP IN NUMISMATICS [log in to unmask] The Museum of the American Numismatic Association (ANA) houses the largest and most important numismatic collection west of the Smithsonian Institution. Its collections include over 300,000 specimens of coins, tokens, paper money, medals and related numismatic items. Internships are available for undergraduate or graduate students. Academic credit may be arranged with participating colleges/universities. Duties: Assist in collections management responsibilities, including inventorying, cataloging, deaccessioning and research. Also includes assisting with planning, preparation and installation of new exhibits, as well as working with the Museum's volunteer program and public information service. Programs are designed to provide a realistic exposure to routine museum work in a numismatic context. Interns may participate in a seminar of their choice at the ANA's annual Summer Conference on Numismatics. Qualifications: Suitable academic background and experience (social studies, humanities, etc.), with knowledge and interest in numismatics and museology.
