OK, OK Enough reminders from off-list contacts have reminded me that, yes, the corona of the Sun does indeed emit strong doses of Ultra-violet radiation and x-rays. While the X-rays are pretty much absorbed by the atmosphere, there is still enough ultra-violet making it through to be concerned about. As I indicated in my original message, it is always recommended that you view an eclipse via projection or strong filters. Also, stay clear of those little mylar eclipse-viewing glasses. They are very easily damaged. Best. Matt
