In addition to my previous response about using Visual Basic 4( and VB5 comes out next month!), if you are using Win95 or NT for the unit you can set user policys using the policy editor. there is no built in shortcut to it so you'll have to do in 95. you have to get the file off of the Win95 CD in the ADMIN\AppTools\PolEdit folder. this allows you an enormous amount of control over the system without resorting to third party add-on products. you can disable the run command in the start menu. there is even an option to HIDE all desktop icons maknig tehm completely unavailable. Nothing against Peter here, i'm sure that cnfiguration is going to work fine. but VB + Internet Explorer and built in Win95 tools will do the trick just as well and may save you some development headaches. The critical thing here is that you use a 16 bit version of Netscape, on Win95. I'm using Visual C++ v. 1.5, and everything works fine except I can't get the ADD BOOKMARKS to go away? It's not on the floor yet, so hasn't been really tested! But the results look positive. I'm also using WinU as the desktop. www.bardon.com You can set any program(s) you want the public to access, and WinU locks them off of the harddrive...password protected.
