The Marketing and Public Relations Institute for Museums and Cultural Organizations March 2-5, 1997 The University of Kansas at Lawrence, KS The Marketing and Public Relations Institute for Museums and Cultural Organizations was created in 1996 to provide quality specialized training for museum professionals with a particular emphasis on the needs of small and mid-sized museums, historic houses and sites, art centers, science centers, and museums with living collections. This intensive, 3 1/2-day institute combines theoretical information with real life examples and hands-on activities designed to hone the skills of museum professionals responsible for attracting new audiences, communicating with existing audiences, delivering visitor services, establishing partnerships with external organizations and increasing earned and contributed income.
