Position Announcement Assistant Director of Development The UCLA Fowler Museum of Cultural History seeks to hire a full-time (two-year term) Assistant Director of Development immediately. She/He will work as an integral member of the Museum's development team to generate financial support as the University enters a major capital campaign. Responsible for internal development functions including prospect research, management of on-going grant administration and reporting and development of non-exhibition related corporate, private and foundation support (for example: general operating, equipment, internships, maintenance etc.) Will work closely with director of development on assigned projects and general administrative support of development functions including planning, documentation and office organization. Qualifications: Minimum two years development experience, or equivalent graduate-level training required, with demonstrable knowledge of basic principles of development and business. Excellent writing skills required, as well as skill in editing and proofreading. Familiarity with museum administration preferred. Proficiency in operating an IBM PC in a windows environment using Microsoft Word and Excel to prepare correspondence and proposal materials with speed and accuracy. Excellent organization, scheduling and follow-through capabilities. Ability to interact graciously with associates and benefactors of the Museum in the course of routine business and at special events. Ability to work with minimal supervision required.
