When you drive into Medford, OR, on I-5 (just north of Ashland) take a detour and visit the Southern Oregon Historical Society located in downtown Medford. We will have a couple exhibitions in place by then. Or, if you have more time, visit Jacksonville, OR. A few miles from I-5, it's a national historic landmark town west of Medford. We have a museum there and the town has great restaurants. If you stop in Ashland, over the Siskiyou summit, you won't go wrong either. It's the home of the nationally known Oregon Shakespeare Festival and a great small town. It was hard hit by the New Year's Day flood but recovering. Farther north, in Roseburg, is the Douglas County of Museum of History and Natural History, and worth a visit. There are many museums in the Portland area as well. I could send you a list of Oregon museums published by the Oregon Museums Association if you would like. Mary Ames B.
