Position title: Education Coordinator, Interpretive Programs Department General description: Develops and coordinates educational programs at the Oregon History Center and statewide educational outreach of Oregon Historical Society. Programming includes exhibit-related school and adult group visits, public demonstrations, classes, symposia, family days, rental/loan artifact kits and curriculum materials, education website page, and National History Day program in Oregon. Salary: $30,345 minimum/year Position title: Museum Curriculum/Program Specialist, Breaking Traditions Project General description: To represent the interests and needs of the variety of OHS' audiences as a key member of an exhibit development team. To focus on delivering pedagogical goals as part of the exhibit design process and to translate those goals into a unified curriculum including gallery-based and outreach components, educational materials, and public programs. Salary: $25,000 for 10-month position. Contract extension possible. Position Requirements (BOTH positions): - Ability to work independently and as part of a team or network of professionals - Excellent written and verbal communications skills - Understanding of current educational theory and a creative approach to applying theory to a variety of learning environments - Prior museum or interpretive education experience Education: BA required; History, American Studies, or Education emphasis preferred. MA in Museum Education or commensurate professional experience.
