Visit our website at http://www.bampfa.berkeley.edu/ The museum is seeking a qualified person for a newly created position, Assistant Director for External Relations, who will have overall responsibility for the success of development and marketing initiatives: oversee and direct endowment and capital campaigns, annual fund programs, major gifts, membership, corporate underwriting, government and foundation grants, media relations, and advertising. Develop strategies to broaden and diversify the funding base of individuals, foundations, funding agencies, and corporations while increasing endowment and membership. Formulate institutional marketing programs and supervise media buying strategies to expand visitorship and membership among the diverse constituencies of the museum. Ensure the successful attainment of endowment, capital and annual financial goals, and develops strategies to significantly increase earned income. This position requires extensive executive or senior level development and marketing experience in the museum, arts or university setting; in-depth knowledge of current strategies in fundraising and marketing; demonstrated leadership and management abilities; excellent verbal and written communication skills; background in art history, film history or other arts field preferred.
