This is a job posting for the position of Exhibition Designer at the Cleveland Museum of Art Duties & Responsibilities: Assists with planning and design of museum galleries and special exhibitions by performing duties which may include but are not limited to: -meets with appropriate staff to determine needs, purpose and function of assignment, budget, art works to be installed and other factors which affect project. Submits proposals for review. -developes design documents for the production of partitions, casework and mounts by the museum's installation staff and contractors -oversees gallery construction, casework and mount fabrication and finishing and installation of permanent collection or special exhibitions while meeting pre-set deadlines and operating within set budget. -updates chief designer on status of projects -performs special functions as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in architecture, design or engineering, with at least 5 years professional and production experience in a related institution or business. Excellent organizational, drafting and design skills required, as well as the ability to prioritize work projects, work well under pressure to meet deadlines and focus on several different projects simultaneously, if necessary. Good computer workstation skills required. CAD drafting skills and a working knowledge of database and word processing software essential.
