Wax artefacts and medieval burial

Any information on beeswax objects - unworked pieces or artefacts, AND ON GRAVE
CHALICES OF ANY MATERIAL - recovered from medieval Christian burials in Britain
and mainland Europe would be gratefully received.

The Archaeology Section of the City Museum and Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent, have
conducted excavations at the Cistercian monastery of Hulton Abbey,
Stoke-on-Trent, most recently (1987-1994) under the direction of Bill Klemperer.

These have uncovered 2 wax objects in graves: one is a seal from a document, the
other a wax chalice.

Thankyou
Debbie Ford, Senior Assistant Keeper of Archaeology
City Museum and Art gallery Stoke-on-Trent.
