The new Hieronymus Mueller Museum, a private family and company museum in
Decatur, Illinois, is looking to fill the position of Museum
Manager/Coordinator.

Duties:  To manage the day-to-day operations of the museum, including the
opening and closing of the museum to the public; supervising the exhibit
gallery when open to the public; supervising any volunteer and internship
help; following through with various membership, newsletter, and press
release mailings; maintaining adequate gift shop supplies; properly recording
and depositing all gift shop, admissions, and other revenues; maintaining
adequate office supplies; monitoring the care and storage of the museum's
collections, including filling out temporary receipt forms, accessioning and
cataloging collection items; maintaining appropriate ties with all sister
institutions; assiting with the preparation of temporary exhibits.  This is a
part-time position of approximately 28 hours per week.

Qualifications:  Minimum B.A. degree in history or related field; M.A.
preferred; three years experience in a museum or like institution.

Skills needed:  Collections management, fundraising, public relations,
volunteer supervision, and retail experience preferred.
