CURATOR OF EDUCATION

The Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami, whose collections include
western and non-western art from antiquities to the present, seeks
a qualified, experienced Curator of Education to develop overall
educational programs related to collections, exhibitions, and
audience. Responsibilities include: docent training and supervision;
liaison with University of Miami, public/private K-12 and other
area university students, teachers, and faculty; develop and produce
educational labels, handouts, and brochures, outreach programs, and
lectures; and project grantswriting.

Requirements: min. two years museum education experience; strong
writing and speaking skills, related B.A., M.A. preferred. Salary
range $22,000 - $28,000 commensurate with experience. Excellent
benefits package.

Background:
The Lowe Art Museum, founded in 1950 and AAM-accredited
since 1972, is the oldest museum in Dade County, with a collection
of over 8,000 objects. The Lowe is nearing completion of a 13,000
square foot addition to the recently renovated building,
which will double the size of the museum. Location: Coral Gables,
on the University of Miami campus, approx. four miles south
of metropolitan Miami.
