Agreed -- an important topic, i.e., accessibility, problems facing small museums, etc. There again may be problems in defining "small." I heard yesterday that it is actually on "operation" of the museum and how many people a museum can attract. If you have 2,000,000 artifacts, have 300 staff, but only draw in 2,000 visitors compared to 100,000, of a museum that had only 3 staff, 2,000 objects in their collection. The small staff, with a larger visitation would be a larger musuem "professionally." IMHO, it is how the museum is organized that makes it function as a large or small museum. Size of staff, collection, budget really has nothing to do with it, if professionally they cannot achieve their "mission."
