If my memory serves correctly, Castroville, Califoria is the "artichoke
capital" of the world, maybe their Chamber of Commerce could give you some
information.  By the way, I believe daisy's and artichokes are related in
that their both in the Family Compositae, which is a really huge group of
plants.
